IT ALL STARTED WITH THE GUY BIG J4...

Over 40 years ago Pete White and Roger started Wessex Waste Disposal from the front room in Pete’s house, Manor Cottage ,when they set out to provide a customer focused business providing advice and a liquid waste disposal service in Dorset and Wiltshire.

It all started back in 1980 with the purchase of a GUY Big J4 to which was added a second hand farm tank. With a handful of enthusiastic customers shouting their support this provided the bedrock of the business today many of which, although older, and wiser, are still Wessex Waste customers today.

Fast forward to today and although we all face many new challenges, Wessex Waste has expanded to cover the West Country with a modern fleet of vacuum tankers but with the same focus on looking after the needs of our customers with our renowned,  reliable, friendly and efficient service.

Sadly Pete died in 2015 after a short battle with cancer,  but being built on the strong foundations Pete established the business continued to go from strength to strength and only last month taking delivery of the lasted DAF CF with the superb and highly efficient Fuller vacuum tank.

All the fleet are now powered by efficient Euro 6 engines, using Jurop vacuum pumps and Pratissoil jetting equipment, and with the continued expansion of the fleet, no job is too big or too small.

We are fortunate that we all have a very loyal team with all the drivers having been with Wessex Waste more years than we care to remember.  All of whom worked alongside Pete and have carried on the ethos of Customer Service he established and cared so much about.

Paul’s daughter, who Pete was very fond of, joined the team three years ago and Roger’s son Geoffrey is now also an owner of the business so this family business has a secure future for another 40 years.

Chris:

Chris is a genuine ‘people person’ who has been with us for over 20 years, currently operating our 2000 gallon 4 wheeler out and about to cover the local residential sites we serve.

If you offer him a cuppa, he’ll love to chat about his main interests, restoring a 65-year old farm tractor, caravanning trips and his beloved dog.

Paul:

Paul joined Wessex Waste in 2006, and after soaking up some initial guidance from director Pete, he’s built up a store of knowledge and experience in waste management, making him a very valuable member of the team.

Paul’s favourite part of the job is driving around the scenic countryside and meeting some wonderful West Country folk along the way.

Jason:

Jason brought his long experience as a driver, 25 years on the road, to Wessex Waste when he joined the team in 2008.

He enjoys nothing more than to be behind the wheel operating one of our tankers, and is a particular fan of our M.A.N 3000 gallon 6 wheeler, fitted with a Pratissoil jetter and has a wash down capability of 200 gallons.

Tamsin:

Tamsin knows how to keep us happy here at Wessex Waste! While very skilled at overseeing the day-to-day management of the office, she’s made herself indispensable with her amazing baking skills and we look forward to the treats she brings in regularly.

The best part of working for Wessex Waste for friendly, outgoing Tamsin is getting to know our customers.
